    Descripción:

    Fenómenos luminosos de la alta atmósfera en forma de arcos, bandas, colgaduras o cortinas: en ocasiones no es más que un resplandor difuso, pero ordinariamente posee coloraciones verdes, amarillas o púrpura.
    Se produce por el el choque de los electrones de origen solar con los átomos del aire enrarecido de la ionosfera.
